A. Yes, although we also highly recommend that you sign up for our How to Start, Build, and Run a Successful Expert Witness Practice preconference if your schedule permits or stream the pre-conference on-demand anytime from www.seak.com. 

Q. What types of experts is your training conference appropriate for?
A. All disciplines and all levels of experience. Each year we have experts who have testified hundreds of times attend as well as brand new experts. The level of diversity in terms of disciplines who attend the conference is breathtaking and includes accountants, engineers, physicians, attorneys, psychologists, life care planners, chiropractors, fire investigators, arborists, nurses, computer specialists, patent experts, damages experts, security, investments, etc. 

Q. Are there continuing education credits for my discipline?

Q. How many expert witnesses have attended this training conference?
A. Over 4,000 since 1990. SEAK has trained many thousands more experts through seminars, on-site training, and 1–1 training.

Q. Should I sign up for a preconference or is that information already covered in the main conference?
A. We highly recommend that you take advantage of the smaller group format preconferences and sign up for one if your schedule permits. The preconferences go into far more depth than what is covered at the main conference and allow you to drill down and perfect your skills. A large percentage of attendees historically also attend a preconference.

Main Conference Continuing Education Credit Information

We can often obtain desired credits upon request, but unfortunately, obtaining some types of credits are not feasible. Please register early, as we can only apply for credits after your registration form has been received and it can take time to get the requested approvals back from the accrediting agencies. Accident Reconstructionists: SEAK will apply for credits through ACTAR upon written request at the time of registration. Accountants: State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. SEAK will provide each attendee with a certificate of attendance. Appraisers: Credits from The American Society of Appraisers will be applied for on written request at the time of registration. Dr. Parnell frequently serves as a testifying Expert Witness in patents, product failure, and personal injury litigation cases. He holds PhD and MSME degrees from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering and a BES degree from Georgia Tech. Dr. Parnell is an ASME Fellow, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Member of SAE and ASM International. He is a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer in the State of California. Dr. Parnell served full-time on the Mechanical Engineering faculty at Santa Clara University from 2010-2012, teaching undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students and previously was a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford University teaching graduate classes. Prior to assuming the bench in 2014, Judge Sullivan was a partner at his firm of Sullivan and Sweeney, LLP in Quincy, Massachusetts and one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the state. He also previously served as a special assistant city solicitor for Quincy from 2006 to 2008 and as a prosecutor for the Norfolk County, Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office from 1982 to 1984. Judge Sullivan has tried as a litigator or presided over as a judge hundreds of jury trials (both civil and criminal cases). He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the Boston College Law School.

Parker, MD is founder and managing director of Parker Healthcare Innovations, LLC and is CMO for Arcadia —an EHR aggregation and analytics company. Formerly, he was a practicing internist from 1988-2012; an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School since 2000; and from 2000 to 2015, he served as medical director and then chief medical officer (CMO) of the Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization (BIDCO). As a practicing internist for nearly 30 years, he was recognized by Boston Magazine as one of Boston’s best internal medicine doctors and is a 2010 and 2012 recipient of the BIDMC Schwartz Center’s Compassionate Caregiver Award. Dr. Parker graduated from Harvard College in 1978 and the Dartmouth-Brown program in medicine in 1985. He cares for patients part-time at Care Dimensions hospice in Lincoln, MA. Dr. Parker is a highly experienced expert witness. Ms. Sundararaman focuses her practice in the areas of intellectual property and commercial litigation matters. She has significant experience performing complex financial and accounting analyses in quantification of damages. Her experience includes disputes brought to federal courts and matters brought before the US International Trade Commission (ITC); and covers a range of disputes involving intellectual property, including allegations of patent, trademark infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets.
